How to clear a clogged drain safely

I had a slow drain this morning in the bathroom sink this morning . I hate usual drain cleaners like liquid plumber. They are not environmentally friendly, they cost and are in the long run bad for your pipes.

One home made drain cleaner is this mixture:

Pour 1 cup of baking soda down the drain followed by 1 cup of hot vinegar. Try heating the vinegar in the microwave before adding it to the drain. Wait 5 minutes before flushing the drain with 2 quarts of hot water. You can repeat this process a few times if it is necessary.

You should try to do this once a month to prevent clogged drains.
