Cooking, retirement, budgeting, oh my! Find out how this Frugal Momma of 3 boys does it (or should I say tries to do it) all while trying to live within our means and increase our net worth.
I am once again challenging myself to No heat until Nov 1st Last year I didn't quite make it. It's been a little chilly in the house but I am making sure the kids are warm and throwing extra blankets on the beds at night.

We live in an apartment and by law the landlord has to turn on the heat Oct. 1. But before we lived here when I was cold but didn't want to turn on the heat I'd bake or slow roast things in the oven to heat up the house a little. The gas cooks the food and makes the house a bit warmer, plus the smell of baking bread is a warm cozy thing in itself.
We just turned on the heat today, it was 33 this morning and we had accidentally left a window open in the the living room, so heat went on for 10 minutes to warm back up.

We had a couple of colders days but then it warmed up so no heat here yet.
Hubby thinks I am crazy that folks would even chat about this.
