How To Treat Teen Boy Acne With Simple Steps

When I was a teenager girl, I had acne really bad acne on my face and upper body  so my mom took me to the dermatologist and I had a host of prescription medications  to help reduce the redness.   Now I have one teen age boy in the house and he is starting to get acne and I  want to make sure he doesn't have to go through what I did.   Going to the dermatologist and having to get prescription medications can be quite pricey

Here are some of the things I am making sure I am working  on with my 14 year old teen. .

Dehydration occurs when there is an insufficient water intake. Dehydration has an impact on acne problems because the skin has difficulty getting rid of dead cells properly when it is starved for water. These cells make acne much worse when not shed.  Teen boys  should  try to drink  8 plus glasses of water a day.  Not soda or other surgery drinks as they often like do drink instead of water.

Boys should wear comfortable clothes that are suitable for the weather; also strive to wear clothing manufactured from natural materials. Not only can extreme temperatures and humidity wreak havoc on the skin, synthetic fibers trap moisture and heat near the skin, but those weather conditions themselves can aggravate some people's acne problems. Physical stress from excessive heat can worsen acne, but wearing clothing appropriate to the climate really helps reduce stress.  I often have to tell him    Don’t sit in sweaty clothes and if you come home from soccer practice take a shower right afterwards.

Avoid touching your face, especially if you have dirty hands.  And with teen boys make sure you wash your hands too.   Wipe down your cell phone too if put it up to your face.

Extreme changes in the temperature can affect the amount of acne to worsen. You tend to sweat more when it gets really warm. Sweat will clog pores. The irritation and clogging can be an outbreak of acne.Cold weather can make your skin and create irritation. Both of these conditions are detrimental to your skin's health.

Stress produces a high level of stress hormones that are unhealthy for your body, they also wreak havoc on skin.  Boy teen age hormones yikes!  Reducing the stress in your life has many benefits and you can reduce stress through exercise, meditation or listening to your favorite music  a few minutes daily can provide you with many benefits.

Never pick at any scars that are formed by your acne scars or pop  the pimples . Picking will lead to irritation, even infected, and decrease your chances of ever seeing them healed.

Most of the  acne treatment  solutions will contain ingredients such as benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, or both. Benzoyl peroxide can treat acne by killing bacteria that grow inside the skin pores and lead to pimples, blackheads, whiteheads, and inflammation. Salicylic acid is a bit milder than benzoyl peroxide, and it is an effective acne treatment due to its ability to unclog pores that trap oil and bacteria beneath the surface of the skin. The best acne treatment washes  like  one advertised on tv called  Proactiv  (kind of pricey) or  available in the store like AcneFree  (cheaper and more cost effective)  will take into consideration the drying effects of these ingredients and combine them with a moisturizer than can keep the skin hydrated, smooth, and free of inflammation. It is important that you apply acne medications to your whole face, and not just on the spots you could see. Make sure you apply this to the forehead is covered too.

Neosporin is an excellent way to heal a pimple that has already popped. The antibiotics in the cream help alleviate redness and irritation from a popped zit . You should make sure that you do not put too much on.

Now you are ready to banish persistent acne problems. For the rest of your lifetime, you can have clear and glowing skin by using these tips. You will definitely be happy that you no longer have to deal with acne.
